I am a Ph.D. candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Pisa. I actively collaborate with the Department of Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (DISIM) of the University of l’Aquila and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI) of the University of Bologna.

I obtained my master’s degree in Data Analytics from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. Before that, I got my B.S. degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of Turin.

Research Interests 🧠

  • Symbolic and Sub-symbolic integration: combining statistical AI with human-like symbolic knowledge and reasoning.
  • Explainable Artificial Intelligence: build transparent, explainable, and trustworthy systems.
  • Robustness: real-world robust learning systems.

Hackathons 🏆

  • Covid CXR hackathon: design an algorithm to support medical doctor to formulate a Covid-19 prognosis from chest X-ray images and clinical data collected during triage, 2022.
  • Dynamic Pricing competition: build an RL algorithm that is able to vary prices and compete with other algorithms by incorporating the information received on a simulated market, 2020.
  • Hackathon Stats Under the Stars 5: analysis of a real-world analytics problem, provided by Generali Assicurazioni, 2019.
